this morning, right down the street from my place, they broke ground on a community garden. for years, the space has been an empty lot. grown over with weeds. random garbage strewn about. the mayor came down. folks from the parks department. press. distinguished guests. lots of talk of transformation. beautification. can’t wait to see it when it’s done. in the spring, as flowers start to bloom, love is in the air. can you smell it? i sure can. cute couples holding hands. kisses & glances. budding romances. a day in the park under blue skies. a blanket, a wink & a hand on a thigh. it’s basically the ideal time. this year, it’s going to be the ideal time for you & i. i just know it. love is in the air, dear. breathe deep.
