this morning #1730.

this morning, we brought dad home from the hospital. set him up in the living room like a king. in his recliner right in front of the tv. a fully stocked mini fridge by his side. one of those sweet grabber things. he only had to get up whenever nature called. i made a joke about getting him diapers so he wouldn’t have to move at all. he didn’t laugh. emasculated. mom’s going to have her hands full with him. i stuck around until around 6pm & then returned to my place. back to work tomorrow. for the entire drive & the rest of the night, i tried to picture what a day in the life of my parents is like. how their lives have changed over the decades. what it’s going to be like for them for these next few weeks.

go back to the beginning.
