this morning, after chatting with a few of the guys at the bar last night, i woke up & sent a text to my lady friend. accepted her apology. when i’d told the guys what she’d done on sunday, they stared back at me. silent. stunned. then one of the guys broke through the quiet with a deep laugh. put things in perspective real quick. “so she’s an angry drunk? she yelled at you? dude. i’ve seen you do WAY worse.” it’s true & i knew it. i’ve puked on women on two separate occasions. no, wait…three. who am i to judge her? other than that brief misstep, she’s been cool. no harm in accepting her apology. keep an eye on things. ride the wave. hope she’ll be just as accepting when i inevitably make some tremendous mistake.
