this morning #1692.

this morning, during our second planning meeting of the day, one of the other managers interrupted the boss so he could have his say about the way that two of his team members had been underperforming. clear the air. at the time, i didn’t see why he brought it up but, as was explained to me later on, the boss said something that spooked him & he decided to make a risky move. on one hand, it was a subtle signal to the boss to fire the slackers. bring in better workers before they dragged down the whole team, him included. in doing so though, he was admitting that his skills as a manager weren’t enough to fix the situation on their own. it’s a self-imposed blow that i’m not yet brave enough to make. maybe one day.

go back to the beginning.
