this morning, i arrived at the office fifteen minutes earlier than usual, tired but still trying to psych myself up for the first day of transitioning into my new role as a manager. again…me! manager! the biggest challenge right now is my focus. ever since friday night’s date, i’d been messaging quite a bit with my new love interest. since it was the weekend, i didn’t have my job getting in the way. now i’m expected to sit in meetings all day long. pay attention. prove to my boss that i’m manager material when what i really want to be doing is finding goofy gifs to send. it’s not in my nature to put work first. i’m going to try though. i really am. i’ve told myself that a dozen times so far today. in this case, i really don’t have much choice.
