this morning, it was PARTY TIME, BABY. broke out the ol’ ugly sweater for its once-a-year appearance. time to shine, weird-looking reindeer. tonight’s holiday shindig is going to be OFF THE CHAIN. catered & everything. open bar. far beyond the sad conference room gatherings we had when i first came to this company. lunch time. paper plate. choose a tiny sandwich or two from a platter. grab some salad & a couple cookies. find a seat & balance your lunch in your lap while higher-ups yap about how they’re so proud of us. what a team! we toast with sodas & return to our desks to wait out the rest of the day. no more of that crap. it’s a friday night. if i’m not out doing karaoke with someone random at 1am, i’ve failed.
