this morning, back in my office after managing to sidestep disaster last night, i was tasked with drafting an exit strategy for my client. despite the fact that i was going to miss the income that our gun running business brought in, i knew it was finally time for us to move on. the two men we’d been working with had proven to be far too volatile. luckily, they’d opted to go easy. not at first, of course. if he hadn’t acted as quickly as he had, he & his family would’ve died in that fire & it’d be a totally different story. instead, they’re giving him enough money for a new home & more. now i just have to ensure that they know that that cash is also his exit package. it’ll buy his silence. he’ll hand off his contact, call it a day & be on his way.
