this morning #1470.

this morning, in the pre-dawn dark, as we drove down these suburban streets & left our home behind, the neighborhood seemed completely evil. we’d just lost our house, after all. all these stupid people still had their stupid homes. we were off to spend the night in a hotel. returning to these suburban streets hours later, with the sun shining bright, i saw things in a different light. the fire might turn out to be a blessing. we’re better than this place. if they’d embraced us at all, i might be dejected about having to find a new place to live. they’d rejected us. scorned us. ignored us. by the time i pulled into the driveway. i’d accepted that our time here had come to an end. got out & made my way to the shed.

go back to the beginning.
