this morning #1467.
this morning, as the emergency personnel rushed around the grounds, focused on battling the blaze, a couple dozen feet away, hidden in a backyard shed, stuffed into a jansport backpack, there was a treasure trove of nazi memorabilia. flags. medals. a stack of documents tied up with twine. a sealed cedar box with an iron cross emblazoned on top. i couldn’t believe what i was seeing. up until now, i’d managed to go my entire life without seeing any nazi crap in the flesh. i guess that streak’s snapped. i turned to the neighbor who’d brought us here. asked if he’d had any clue who he was really living next door to. he flashed a serious “seriously?” look at me. that’s when we heard someone approaching.
